Problem Description
The CE-1000 card experiences interoperability issues with other vendor products. When connected to the ALU9500 MPR product and the interface is brought up/down several times, CRC errors are seen on the CE-1000. Once in this state, CRC errors counts increment and telnet, ping and SNMP services are impacted.
Background
A software change is available that upgrades the FPGA image to process the packet sequence differently. This new FPGA image is incorporated in the latest software 9.2.1 release downloaded after July 11, 2011. Cisco recommends upgrading to the latest release to avoid this issue.
Problem Symptoms
When connected to an ALU9500 MPR port and the interface is brought up/down several times, the CE-1000 can enter into a CRC error state in which Telnet, Ping and SNMP services are impacted. This problem can be cleared if the interface is brought down/up again.
Workaround/Solution
Although this error state of the CE-1000 may be cleared by bringing the interface down/up, there is a SW change to the FPGA to process the packet sequence differently. This new FPGA image is incorporated in a patch to the SW release R9.2.1.
For customers affected by this issue, Cisco recommends upgrading to R9.2.1 to avoid this issue with the CE-1000.
