SCE SCAS BB - 3.0.0
Loading a Service Configuration file which includes a customized Dynamic Signature may cause the SCE to perform automatic reload several times and eventually stop processing [failure mode].
SCA BB Console 3.0 includes a Dynamic Signature Editor enabling the user to create protocol specific signatures to customize the classification profile to local needs. The Dynamic Signature file (DSS) is imported into the Service Configuration (PQB file) which is applied to the SCE for the updated configuration to become effective.
In some cases, where string search patterns are included in the Dynamic Signature settings, the service-configuration can cause a sequence of reloads of the SCE resulting in reaching a hung state [failure mode].
When applying the PQB file with the problematic DSS onto the SCE, it will perform several reload sequences, after which the SCE reaches the failure mode. It is possible that the problem will be experienced only in live traffic networks under high traffic loads and will not be noticeable in an early lab trial of the service configuration.
Avoid using Dynamic Signature with SCA BB 3.0.0.
It is recommended not to use the custom DSS functionality with SCA BB 3.0.0. The problem is expected to be resolved in one of the coming maintenance releases 3.0.x. No release date for a patched version is available as of the writing of this FN.
Customers needing to use the custom DSS functionallity should use a release prior to 3.0.0.
