Workaround/Solution
This issue has been resolved in IOS release 12.1(12c)EV3 (ons15530-i-mz.121-12c.EV3.bin) or later. Software can be downloaded from the Software Center on Cisco.com.
For an immediate workaround customers may disable the Power-On-Diagnostics (POD) using the following command:
Switch(config)# no diag power cpu bp-idprom-test slot 5
To enable the Power-On-Diagnostics after installing IOS 12.1(12c)EV3 type the following command:
Switch(config)# diag power cpu bp-idprom-test slot 5
