Products Affected
-
IPVC-3511-MCU
-
IPVC-3540-MCU
Problem Description
Attempting to log in to the Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) as the administrator generates a failure. Read-only access is granted to the user. The product can still provide services and functionality, but will be limited to the read-only mode.
Background
A cookie, which is used to simplify the login mechanism for the administrator, expired at midnight on December 30, 2002.. The expiration of this cookie results in the system being unable to accept an administrator login.
Problem Symptoms
Any attempt to log in as the administrator is rejected with the following message:
Session Timeout - Can't open new session - another administrator is already logged on.
All other services and functionality of the product are fully operational.
Workaround/Solution
Updated MCU software to address this issue has been posted to Cisco.com. You can access this software from the Cisco Software Center (registered customers only) .
Select Video Software, then Cisco IP/VC. On the following screen, choose the software version that matches your hardware configuration. The software version that incorporates the fix for this issue is Version 2.2.64 or later.
If you are unable to immediately download and install the software from Cisco.com and require immediate access to the administrator account, you may wish to use the following process as a temporary workaround:
Change the date on the PC on which the WEB browser is installed to a date earlier than December 30, 2002. To do this, on the PC used to access the RADVISION unit, open the date/time control panel, modify the date to an earlier date and click OK.
