Problem Description
A small number of CSMs, shipped after April 02, went out with a non-production quality flash. When these CSMs are upgraded to a different CSM image they will fail. The problem is very specific to only CSMs with the effected flash. To determine if a CSM has this flash , examine Intel parts located at U121 and U143 (see diagram). The second line of the flash part should read J3A150, if it is the correct production quality flash. If it instead reads J3A150ES, the part is non-production quality.

Problem Symptoms
During an attempted software upgrade, the CSM will display an error which states FLASH: TIMED OUT!
Workaround/Solution
