Problem Description
The Cisco uBR10012 platform does not recognize the MC16C and MC16E linecards. Symptoms include NVRAM and bus errors, and MC16x line card failures.
Background
- New programmable changes so the uBR10012 can recognize the MC16C and MC16E linecards.
- Updated carrier design to prevent the possibility of capacitors at location C44 and C45 from shorting out on sheet metal rib.
- LCP memory upgrade (64 to 256Mb) for planned future capability enhancements. Additional Memory is required to meet N+1 memory requirements when card is acting as a Protect Card. Without the additional memory, the card may not be able to store all N+1 database structures required for the 7 Operating Cards (Working Cards). There is no memory deficiency when card is acting as an Operating Card.
- Bus error fix on the LCP card.
Problem Symptoms
Version 06 does not correctly report the ID of the Linecard inserted in the LCP.
Note: Additional Memory is required to meet N+1 memory requirements when LCP card is acting as a Protect Card ("+1" Protect Card). Without the additional memory, the card may not be able to store all N+1 database structures required for the Operating Cards ("N" Working Cards). There is no memory deficiency when the rev 06 card is acting as an Operating Card.
Workaround/Solution
