Cisco identified a potential safety hazard with the power adapters sold worldwide with Cisco 826, 827, 827-4V and SOHO 77 ADSL routers. Cisco has determined that the affected power adapters could overheat, potentially leading to a fire hazard or electric shock hazard. Cisco has received one report of a power adapter overheating.
The affected power adapters can be identified by the adapter Part Number located directly under the Cisco Systems logo on the upper left corner of the power adapter label. The affected power adapters contain the part number "P/N: 34-0949-02" in silver letters on a black background. Cisco is recalling and replacing the affected power adapters.

The safety hazard was the result of a portion of the circuit design, which is specific to these the recalled power adapters.
Problem Symptoms
The power adapters could overheat, potentially leading to a fire hazard or electric shock hazard from an exposed voltage of 71V DC.
