EC1-12 Electrical STS-1 card General Releases 2.0.0, 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 software (Formerly Cerent 454) |
Problem Description
Using version 2.0.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2 software, the EC1-12 card may display a false FAIL light after cold boots (for example, system startup or upgrade). This false alarm does not affect service.
Background
This problem was discovered during testing.
Problem Symptoms
The problem may occur using software releases 2.0.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2. During a cold restart situation and only when the card has been pre-provisioned (for example, at system startup or during software upgrades), a false red FAIL light appears. Service is not affected.
Workaround/Solution
If you believe the EC1-12 card has a false FAIL alarm, log in to the Cerent Management System (CMS) and perform a soft reset by right-clicking the card in the shelf view. A popup window appears and contains a command to reset the unit. Executing the soft reset should eliminate the false alarm.
Date Effective
