Problem Description |
Affected versions of Cisco IOS® Software for uBR will incorrectly display the state of Data-Over-Cable Systems Interface Specifications (DOCSIS) 1.0 Baseline Privacy Interface (BPI) modems in certain instances when using the show cable modem command. This occurs during traffic encryption keys (TEK) negotiation. This defect has Cisco bug ID CSCdp66031. If you are a registered CCO user and you have logged in, you can view the bug details.

Background |
There are two scenarios when the output from the show cable modem command may show the modem state incorrectly:
|
Problem Symptoms |
The show cable modem command will display the reject(pt) state before going online(pt). This is a benign message and should be ignored. The show cable modem command will appear to be stuck in the online(pk) state for a modem that was rejected with an invalid TEK. The modem should instead display a reject(pt) state or go offline. |
Workaround/Solution |
There is no workaround. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(1)T will include a fix for this issue. |
