Problem Description
Token Ring VLAN traffic from the Catalyst 5000 Route Switch Module (RSM) module fails to be forwarded toward Token Ring module ports.
Background
The Catalyst 5000 Supervisor software is incorrectly discarding Token Ring and Source-Routed frames that are coming from VLANs attached to the RSM and are destined to Token Ring ports in the same chassis.
This problem first occurs in the Catalyst 5000 Supervisor software release 5.2(1).
Problem Symptoms
Connectivity from devices on VLANs connected via the RSM to Source-Route bridged devices connected to the Token Ring ports within the chassis will not be achieved.
Workaround/Solution
There is no workaround to this problem.
The software fix is available in the Catalyst 5000 Supervisor interim software release 5.2(1.4). If needed, Cisco's Technical Assistance Center (TAC), will be able to provide you with the latest interim software containing this fix.
The Catalyst 5000 Supervisor software maintenance release 5.2(2) is targeted for release to CCO for the beginning of December 1999 and will also contain this fix.
