Creating RAID Arrays on the NSS2050
The NSS2050 supports JBOD, RAID1 and RAID0.
Access the web interface of the NSS2050. For instructions on how to access the web interface, click here.
Once, logged in click on Storage > RAID.
Under the New RAID Device section, check the SATA drives listed.
On RAID Level, select the desired RAID level from the drop-down menu.
JBOD ( Just Bunch of Disks) - Linear; treats each drive as a stand-alone disk.
RAID 0 - Bit Striping; Volume stores data in stripes on two or more physical disks. Data in a striped volume is allocated alternately and evenly in stripes to these disks.
RAID 1 - Mirroring; It writes data to two disk simultaneously. It uses fault tolerance driver to simultaneously write the same data to the volume of member on each of two physical disks.
