Measure and Improve the User Experience
Make sure your communications are clear and understandable with Cisco Unified Service Monitor. This low-cost, reliable tool continuously monitors active calls supported by the Cisco Unified Communications System and provides near real-time notification when the voice quality of a call fails to meet a user-defined quality threshold.
Part of the Cisco Unified Communications Management Suite, Cisco Unified Service Monitor includes the following two components:
- Sensor hardware, deployed close to the endpoint (IP phone, gateway, or voicemail system), monitors and evaluates call quality and reports this information for active calls in near real-time.
- Central service monitor software operates on a Windows 2003 server platform and receives voice quality information from Cisco 1040 Sensors and Cisco Unified CallManager 4.2 and 5.0, or Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0 systems.
Users can configure quality thresholds (expressed as a Mean Opinion Score [MOS]) on a per codec or device type basis; alerts are sent to an upstream application such as Cisco Unified Operations Manager when an MOS threshold is violated. This allows users to understand service quality at a system level through Cisco Voice Transmission Quality (VTQ) support and real-time service quality through Cisco 1040 Sensors.
Cisco Unified Service Monitor 2.0.1 incorporates support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0 and contains reporting data export enhancements.
Cisco Unified Service Monitor 2.0.1:
- Is a distributed, scalable solution that facilitates cost-effective voice quality monitoring
- Is easy to deploy with built-in redundancy properties
- Presents voice-quality alerts in a specialized Service Quality Alerts display to help managers quickly launch diagnostic tools and processes
- Provides comprehensive voice quality measurements through the combination of Cisco 1040 Sensors and VTQ support
