WebEx Technology

Grow Your Business with Global Web Collaboration

Get enterprise-quality security and redundancy to meet even the most demanding architectural, cryptographic, and authentication requirements.

The Cisco Collaboration Cloud, a global, carrier-class, multilevel network built especially for real-time web communication, delivers WebEx applications to online meeting participants across your corporate firewall. Launch or join meetings from PCs or Macs, Linux, UNIX, and Solaris, and mobile devices.

Provide a Highly Secure Meeting Experience

Manage and enforce security policies for your customized WebEx site. You get password policies, highly secure scheduling and notification, and defined and enforced privileges for hosts and attendees.

Integrate WebEx Applications with Cisco Unified Communications Products

Complement Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, Cisco Unified Video Conferencing, and Cisco TelePresence with WebEx applications for complete enterprise collaboration.

Extend the reach of your meeting with Cisco TelePresence WebEx OneTouch or optimize the WebEx WAN bandwidth usage with the WebEx Node, a shared port adapter for the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Router.

Gain Dependable, Uninterrupted Service

Cisco WebEx technology offers high availability, with automatic backup and failover. In the unlikely event of a service interruption, traffic transparently switches to a dedicated backup site over the dedicated Cisco Collaboration Cloud backbone.

WebEx sessions use switching equipment housed in fully redundant and highly secure data centers around the world, with a dedicated network of high-speed meeting switches. Meeting session data is switched - never persistently stored - through the Cisco Collaboration Cloud.

Cisco owns and operates all infrastructure used within the Cisco Collaboration Cloud. Cisco personnel are available 24x7 to provide required logistical security, operational, and change management support.

Encryption Technologies

For WebEx meetings on PCs and mobile devices:

  • Data is transported using 128-bit Secure Socket Layer version3 (SSLv3).
  • Files are encrypted using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) prior to transport.
  • Optional Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) based end-to-end encryption is available.
  • A mobile user's login password for WebEx meetings is encrypted using 128-bit Data Encryption Standard (DES).
