End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement
for the Cisco OSR-7609 Chassis
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® OSR-7609 including the related bundles OSR-7609-AC and OSR-7609-DC. The last day to order Cisco OSR-7609 is January 31, 2004. Customers will continue to receive from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 31, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco OSR-7609, OSR-7609-AC, and OSR-7609-DC bundles.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the new Cisco 7609 Router. The 7609 Router delivers design improvements incorporating:
- Redundant, tiered-speed fan trays for greater airflow
- Increased power options for future power-intensive hardware
- Improved cable management for dense, cable-intensive configurations
Configurable options for route processor, switch fabric, and power supply redundancy are also provided in the new Cisco 7609 model chassis. Additional information about this product can be found at:
