End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for
the PA-FE-TX and PA-FE-FX Port Adapters
Cisco Systems announces the end of life of the Cisco PA-FE-TX and PA-FE-FX port adapters. The last day to order the Cisco PA-FE-TX and PA-FE-FX port adapters is October 31, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until October 31, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco PA-FE-TX and PA-FE-FX port adapters.
These port adapters are used in the Cisco 7100, 7200, 7400, 7500, and the uBR7200 series routers.

Customers who want a Fast Ethernet port adapter may want to purchase the PA-2FE-TX or PA-2FE-FX.

Customers with Cisco 7200 Series routers can also use the Fast Ethernet I/O controller or NPE-G1. The C7200-I/O-2FE/E includes two Fast Ethernet ports and the NPE-G1 includes three Gigabit Ethernet or Fast Ethernet ports.

Customers with a SMARTnet or a comprehensive maintenance program contract are entitled to free software updates, 24-hour phone support through the Cisco TAC, and hardware repairs. Customers with comprehensive maintenance program contracts also receive onsite service. Customers who do not have a maintenance contract can purchase software updates and hardware repair services from Cisco to meet specific requirements.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to: http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein. The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
