Introduction
This document describes how to recover a password on a Cisco CSS 11000 Offline Diagnostic Module (OFFDM). The procedure in this document is based on CSS Version 5.00 build 63 (ap0500063.adi.gz).

Step-by-Step Procedure
Complete these steps in order to recover a password on a Cisco CSS 11000 OFFDM:

Power on the unit.

Press Esc once
Running POST Diagnostics appears, and the APdebugMon prompt is displayed.

Type reboot_diag.
Caution: If you type reboot from the command
line, a non-diagnostic boot is performed. -
Type these commands:
m ext list
-
Look for the test number to the right of NVRAM Clear test (30 in this case), and type run 30.
Output similar to this example appears:

Type reboot.

Type y when the Are you sure (y/n)? prompt appears.

Type 3 in order to set BOOTP, IP Address, and Subnet Mask.

Type 4 in order to reboot the device, and then type y to start the reboot. You should see this output:
