Cisco® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco ONS 15454 Select Software Releases - SONET and SDH. The last day to order the Cisco ONS 15454 Select Software Releases - SONET and SDH is May 31, 2008. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco ONS 15454 Select Software Releases - SONET and SDH. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

The recommended replacement and migration strategy for SONET and SDH customers affected by this announcement is outlined as follows. The recommended replacement software includes many new system capabilities, enhanced network security, and general code enhancements for improved software stability. For those customers on R5.0.X affected by this announcement:
• TCC2(P): Migrate to the latest available release.
For those customers migrating from R5.0.5:
• To ensure compatibility with the features in this release, migrate to R6.2 or later.
For those customers on R4.X.X affected by this announcement:
• TCC2(P): Migrate to the latest available release.
• TCC+: Migrate to the latest 4.1.x release or conduct an in-service processor upgrade to TCC2(P), then migrate to the latest available release.
For those customers on R2.X.X affected by this announcement:
• TCC+: Migrate to the latest 4.1.x release or conduct an in-service processor upgrade to TCC2(P), then migrate to the latest available release.
• TCC: Processor end of life.
