Cisco CSS 11501 Content Services Switch with Integrated Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Termination and HTTP Compression with Cisco WebNS Software Version 8.10.
Cisco Systems Announces Availability of the Cisco CSS 11501 Content Services Switch and New Module for the Cisco CSS 11500 Series with Integrated SSL Termination and HTTP Compression with Cisco WebNS Software Version 8.10.
Cisco® WebNS Software Version 8.10 delivers support for a new Cisco CSS 11501 model and a new module for the Cisco CSS 11500 Series with integrated SSL termination and HTTP compression along with CiscoWorks CiscoView Device Manager.
NEW VERSION OF CISCO CSS 11501
The new version of the Cisco CSS 11501 (CSS11501S-C-K9(=) Content Services Switch with SSL termination and HTTP Compression has been tuned to boost the SSL handshakes to 1400 transactions per second (TPS). This new version is also capable of supporting HTTP compression and can compress up to 500 Mbps of text-based client traffic.
NEW SSL AND HTTP COMPRESSION MODULE FOR THE CISCO CSS 11503 AND 11506
The new SSL termination and compression module has the same performance characteristic as the enhanced Cisco CSS 11501-S-C (CSS5-SSL-C-K9(=) is the new SSL and compression module part number). However, the main advantage is that your customers can add SSL and compression incrementally. A Cisco CSS 11503 can support two of these new modules, while the CSS 11506 can support up to four modules. Therefore, a CSS 11506 can deliver up to 4 Gbps of compression or up to 5600 TPS. If the module is supporting SSL termination and HTTP compression simultaneously then the limits are approximately 200 Mbps of compression and 1000 TPS.

• SSL and compression capacity can be scaled by adding additional modules to the Cisco CSS 11500 Series.
