Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco Digital Fountain Multicast System. The last day to order the affected product is July 13, 2003. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 in EoL product bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Digital Fountain Multicast System. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco Digital Fountain Multicast Solution is the Cisco Content Engines or the Content Distribution Manager with Cisco ACNS Software as described in Table 3. ACNS 5.0 software provides an integrated multicast control mechanism in the CDM allowing for tighter control and a lower overall cost of ownership.
