Installing and Configuring the Microsoft OCS Plug-in for Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager Release 5.6
1 Overview
The Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager plug-in for Microsoft Office Communicator Server (OCS) 2007 enables OCS users to join MCU conferences.
The plug-in inserts a tab at the bottom of the OCS client interface. Users access MCU conferences by entering a conference ID in this tab.
2 Prerequisites
•
A functional Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager server synchronized with Microsoft Active Directory and operating in Single Sign-on (SSO) mode.
•
OCS 2007 server installed on your network.
•
The ocs2007.reg registry file provided on the Cisco Utilities and Documentation CD-ROM supplied with the product (used to display the OCS tab on OCS 2007 client machines).

Configuring the ocs2007.reg Registry File
Configuring the ocs2007.reg Registry File
Procedure
Step 1
Locate the ocs2007.reg registry file on the Cisco Utilities and Documentation CD-ROM supplied with the product.
Step 2
Open the file with a text editing tool.
Step 3
Locate the text shown below:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator]"TabURL"="http://Server_Name.Server_Domain:Port/ocs/jsp/oc/tab.xml"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\Server_Domain\Server_Name]"http"=dword:00000002"Step 4
Change Server_Name to the machine name of the Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager server.
Step 5
Change Server_Domain to your organization domain. For example, "mycompany.com".
Step 6
Verify that you can access the tab.xml file using the URL defined for "TabURL".
Step 7
Save and close the ocs2007.reg file.
Step 8
Run the ocs2007.reg file.
Step 9
Go to Internet Explorer and confirm that the Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager server is added as a trusted site. If not, manually add the Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager server as a trusted site.
Configuring the tab.xml File
Procedure
Step 1
Use a text editing tool to open the tab.xml file located by default under
C:\Program Files\Cisco\Unified Videoconferencing Manager\CUVCMRM\jboss\server\default\deploy\vcs.ear\
ocs.war\jsp\ocStep 2
Locate the text shown below in bold:
<?xml version="1.0"?><tabdata><tab><image>http://Server_URL:Port/ocs/jsp/oc/scopialogo32x32.png</image><name>CUVCM Meeting</name><tooltip>Join CUVCM Meeting</tooltip><contenturl>http://Server_URL:Port/ocs/wardress/oc/INIT/ocentry</contenturl><userid>true</userid><contactid>true</contactid><accessibility>both</accessibility></tab></tabdata>Step 3
Change the value of Server_URL to the URL of the Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager server.
The value of Server_URL cannot be "local_host".
Since accessing the Virtual Room link in the OCS tab requires Single Sign-on with Microsoft Active Directory, the value of Server_URL should be the Cisco Unified Videoconferencing Manager server host machine name on the LAN without "." in the name.
If the value of Server_URL is an IP address or contains ".", add the value of Server_URL as a trusted site in your Internet Explorer.
Step 4
Save and close the file.
