How do I set up the Cisco TelePresence Server to work with Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (Cisco VCS)?
The Cisco VCS can be both an H.323 gatekeeper and a SIP registrar for a TelePresence Server. You can register the TelePresence Server's H.323 ID with one Cisco VCS to and its SIP address with another, or register both with the same VCS - depending on your network setup and VCS configuration.
To configure the TelePresence Server to register with a Cisco VCS, log in to the TelePresence Server and go to Configuration > System settings and then:
To register with the VCS acting as H.323 gatekeeper:
- Check the Use gatekeeper box.
- Enter the address of the Cisco VCS in the Address field.
- Enter the H.323 ID of the TelePresence Server.
- Click Apply changes.
To register with the VCS acting as SIP registrar:
- Enter the address of the Cisco VCS in the Outbound address field.
- Enter the SIP username of the TelePresence Server.
- Click Apply changes.
Go to the Status page to check the registration status. Refer to the online help for more details on the H.323 / SIP registration settings.
