56K Digital 12-Port Modem Module Compatibility Matrix (56K Modem) for Cisco AS5200/AS5300
February 22, 2001
Note
Only one portware version is bundled in with each IOS release. The older portware version becomes unbundled when a newer portware version, which is bundled, is released.
The compatibility matrixes below indicate the earliest version of a given IOS branch that is compatible with the listed portware. If the indicated version of IOS is not available on CCO (Cisco Connection Online at http://www.cisco.com/) for any reason, any subsequent Cisco IOS version of the same branch will also work.

1 If you are running a Cisco AS5200 with IOS Version 11.2(10a)P or greater, the single file format of DSP/Firmware code should be used. If an earlier version of IOS is being used on the Cisco AS5200, then the two separate files of DSP and firmware must be used. If you are running a Cisco AS5300, the single file format of DSP/Firmware code should be used.
2 12.0(4)XJ2 and 12.0(5)T are required for store and forward fax.
3 12.0(5)T is required for store and forward fax.
4 With 11.1(14)AA on the Cisco AS5200, the 56K modem hardware will only provide a maximum throughput of 33.6Kbps. Additionally, only the firmware code can be downloaded into the modems.
5 A serious defect is present in 11.2(7a)P1: CSCdj18895. Anyone impacted by this bug is encouraged to move to a later version of IOS.
Note
Product numbers are available for Cisco AS5200 only.
