Integrate Microsoft Exchange with Cisco Spark
Simplify meeting scheduling, even from mobile devices, with Cisco Spark Calendar Service.
As workers become more dependent on mobile technology, many want to use their mobile phones to schedule meetings. Unfortunately, built-in mobile calendar applications do not allow plugins. Consequently, when inviting meeting participants from a mobile app, there is no easy way to send them information on how to join a Cisco Spark or Cisco WebEx meeting.
At the same time, using Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) is difficult and forces people to manually copy and paste the joining information into OWA. This problem is so significant, many people don’t even try. They wait until they get to the office, or use their laptops to schedule meetings.
Schedule, Start Meetings from Any Device
Cisco Spark Hybrid Calendar Service overcomes these issues. It makes it easy for you to schedule meetings and create Cisco Spark rooms automatically, from any device, no matter where you are.
For users with Cisco Spark basic meeting capabilities, adding @Spark to a Microsoft Outlook invitation location field automatically creates a Cisco Spark room for the invitees. The team can begin the conversation and share documents and ideas before the meeting even starts.
In addition, those with a Cisco Spark advanced meeting subscription can add @WebEx to the location field of an Outlook invitation. This automatically populates the body of the invitation with the information on how to join the Cisco WebEx meeting. And by adding @Spark and @WebEx to the location field, you can achieve both results noted above.
Cisco Spark Hybrid Calendar service gives you all these capabilities without requiring plugins or manual copying and pasting of the joining information. By simply adding this text to a meeting invitation, you can schedule meetings from anywhere on any device, including OWA and any mobile device that supports Microsoft Exchange.
How Cisco Spark Hybrid Calendar Service Works
The Hybrid Calendar service can be deployed on its own or together with any of the other Cisco Spark Hybrid Services. To facilitate these services, a software application or connector must be deployed and run on your premises (or in the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution partner cloud). The Hybrid Calendar Service connector requires Cisco Expressway.
There are no incremental subscriptions or fees for deploying this or any of the Cisco Spark Hybrid Services. The Hybrid Service Connectors and Cisco Expressway are downloadable free of charge. They are part of Cisco Unified Communications licensing schemes and the Cisco Spark service.
