End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco Unified Border Element (Service Provider Edition) for the Cisco ASR 1000 Series

Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco Unified Border Element (Service Provider Edition) for the Cisco ASR 1000 Series. The last day to order the affected product(s) is December 29, 2014. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s).Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available under the terms and conditions of customers' service contract.
Cisco IOS Software Release 15.4(3)S will be the final ASR 1000 Series router software major release for the Cisco Unified Border Element (Service Provider Edition).
This announcement does not affect the Cisco Unified Border Element (Enterprise Edition) on the Cisco ASR 1000 Series and on Cisco Integrated Services Routers. Cisco will continue to offer these products.

Product Migration Options
There is no replacement available for the Cisco Unified Border Element (Service Provider Edition) for the Cisco ASR 1000 Series at this time.
With this end-of-sale and end-of-life announcement, Cisco will exit the service provider session border controller (SP SBC) product segment at the provider edge. Customers are encouraged to migrate to alternative SP SBC products available in the industry.
However, Cisco will continue to offer Cisco Unified Border Element (Enterprise Edition) in the enterprise session border controller (Enterprise SBC) product segment at the customer edge.
Customers may be able to use the Cisco Technology Migration Program (TMP) where applicable to trade-in eligible products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, customers should work with their Cisco Partner or Cisco account team. Service prices for Cisco products are subject to change after the product End-of-Sale date.
