Bias-Free Language

Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco® IOS XE Software Release 3.1S. The last day to order the affected product(s) is August 1, 2011. Customers with active service contracts for affected Hardware products will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for affected hardware as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1. This announcement is limited to the IOS throttle listed, and subsequent IOS throttles continue to be available and support till further notice.
This end-of-sale announcement covers all maintenance releases of Cisco IOS XE 3.1S (including 3.1.0S, 3.1.1S, 3.1.2S, 3.1.3S, 3.1.4S and possible later versions).

Product Migration Options
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.3S or later, when available. Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.3S will support all the features in Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.1S as well as additional features. Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.3S is scheduled to be made available in March 2011, before the end-of-sale of Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.1S. Cisco IOS XE Software provides enhanced in-service software upgrade (ISSU) and high-availability (HA) features. These features allow network operators to upgrade Cisco ASR 1000 Series Routers without incurring any significant service interruption. Information about this product can be found at:
