Bias-Free Language
The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco ASR 1002-F Router. The last day to order the affected product(s) is July 31, 2012. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1.

Product Migration Options
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco ASR 1001 Router. The ASR 1001 is the most compact (1RU) platform in the Cisco ASR 1000 Series. The Cisco ASR 1001 introduces the concept of integrated daughter cards (IDCs). The ASR1001 has the following benefits:
• Provides a high-performing platform in a small form factor.
• Offers a default system bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps, upgradable to 5 Gbps with a software-activated upgrade license.
• Offers one shared port adapter (SPA) slot that supports single-height SPAs.
• Includes four built-in 1-GE ports.
• The platform also provides significant crypto throughput at 1.8Gbps (1400 byte), independent of 2.5Gbps or 5Gbps throughput license.
The Cisco ASR 1001 Router is available in 6 different models, providing flexibility and choice of connectivity types as follows:
ASR1001: Base unit without an IDC
ASR1001-2XOC3POS: With an IDC that provides two OC3 POS ports
ASR1001-4XT3: With an IDC that provides four T3 ports
ASR1001-4X1GE: With an IDC that includes four 1-GE ports
ASR1001-HDD: With a 160-GB hard disk drive
ASR1001-8XCHT1E1: With eight channelized T1/E1 ports
