CISCO BUG TOOLKIT
Ongoing Updates Increase Performance

Cisco Bug Toolkit is an online tool that allows you to identify and evaluate bugs that have current or potential impact to your network. Search for bugs in Cisco IOS or non-IOS products such as Catalyst switches, PIX Firewall, network management software, voice, video, and telephony. After completing a search, bug toolkit displays available bug details such as status, software versions affected, and workarounds and/or fixed software versions when available.

Recent updates to the Bug Toolkit database have increased the performance of this online tool. Initial results indicate that searches conducted for Cisco IOS specific products are up to 64 percent faster than before.

Other, more significant updates to the tool and its data are in development and are expected to provide:

  • Greater search accuracy
  • More detailed workaround or upgrade instructions
  • Better integration with other support tools
  • Additional increases in overall performance

These updates are currently scheduled for a phased deployment throughout 2006.
