We understand that there will be participants both from within Nigeria and from surrounding countries and we wish you all a safe journey. Please check if you will need a visa for travel to Nigeria. We suggest that you contact the nearest Nigerian Embassy/Consulate to verify whether or not this will be necessary. If you require a visa, please start the visa application process immediately, since in some cases it may take weeks to obtain one. If you require an invitation letter in order to process your visa to Nigeria, please indicate this when you register and also send an email with the subject line “African Academy Safari 2009 Visa Letter JOS” to Julius Ayuk Tabe (jayuktab@cisco.com). You must include your country, your full name, and your passport number in the email. A Yellow Fever Vaccination Card is required for entry into Nigeria. If you are arriving at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (Lagos), you will need to take a flight which is one (1) hour to Jos Airport Heipang and then arrange for transportation from the airport to your hotel. Those coming from Abuja by road, it is about three (3) hours to Jos. We strongly recommend that you make prior arrangements with the University Of Jos Bus shuttle service. The University of Jos will provide a shuttle service free of charge from the airport and all major Bus-Stations. We recommend that you share the shuttle service with other delegates to reduce cost to you.
