Purpose

This guide describes how to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 5.3.

This guide does not describe how to install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 5.3. Nor does it describe how to install or use additional Cisco Unified MeetingPlace applications that can reside on the same server as Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing. For information about other compatible products, see the "Additional References" section.

Audience

This guide is for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system administrators. It assumes the following:

You have a thorough understanding of voice and data terminology and concepts.

You are familiar with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, networking concepts and Microsoft Windows software-based web servers.

After you install and configure Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing, you are also responsible for the following:

Installing and configuring third-party applications that are not currently available to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing, such as optional audio tools like Windows Media Server


Note Installation of third-party software is subject to the Cisco Policy for Use of Third-Party Software and Security Updates outlined in this documentation.


Working with others, such as your corporate web master and network administrator

Performing maintenance and troubleshooting on an ongoing basis

Planning storage and purging requirements

Naming Conventions

Previous releases of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server were called "MeetingPlace Server" or "MeetingServer." In this guide, "Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server" refers to all releases past and present.

Table 1 describes terms used throughout the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace set of documents.
