Connecting the World to Rio

10,500 athletes from more than 200 countries. How do you connect them with the rest of the world?

With Cisco network infrastructure, of course. Nearly 50 tons of it, to be precise.

In fact, the Games will rely on Cisco and our partners to connect the Olympic family who will descend on the Cidade Maravilhosa—the “Marvelous City”—beginning in August. The Cisco network will provide everything from documenting times to guaranteeing that the tickets and accreditation systems run smoothly.

In addition, the network will be responsible for recording all data collected from the Games themselves—be it on the track, courts, pools or anywhere else the athletes compete. It will also handle all the Internet, LAN and WLAN services for the staff, athletes and more than 25,000 media on hand.
