New and Enhanced Features

Cisco CSP Release 2.5.0 includes the following features and enhancements along with security and bug fixes:

New Features

  • New PNIC naming convention: The PNIC names are now changed to the new format, Eth<slot>-port.

  • Support for multiple DNS server configuration: Admin can now configure up to three DNS servers.

  • Dedicated NFS management network: Admin can create a dedicated network for NFS by using a PNIC that is different from the one used as the management PNIC.

  • Recovery of VNFs from .img files: You can deploy VNFs by using their saved .img file. The VNF comes up with Day-N configuration.

  • Automatic VNF migration from failed nodes in cluster to other nodes: CSP automatically detects a node failure in a cluster and moves the VNFs from the failed node to other nodes in the cluster.

  • Cluster support with TACACS and RADIUS: TACACS and RADIUS users can use copy to and from operations in a cluster.

  • Live edit of VNICs with DPDK: The VNF VNIC attributes for DPDK interfaces can be edited without powering down the VNF.

  • Support for Intel XXV710 NIC: Intel XXV710 NIC is now supported.

  • Support for 40G to 10G breakout cable: You can run Intel XL710 NIC in one of the two modes, 2x40G or 4x10G and use 40G to 10G breakout cable.

Network Interface Card Driver Compatibility

This release includes the following NICs Physical function (PF) drivers. See VNF documentations for more information about compatibility between the Virtual function (VF) driver included in VNF and the NICs PF drivers.
