Introduction

The Smart+Connected PS application enables you to plan utilization of resources at your workspace by maximizing office usage and minimizing energy consumption. You can search for and book available workspaces and set your preferences for the light settings, blinds, air conditioning, and so on.

The Smart+Connected PS application is a holistic solution with an end-to-end integration for simple, flexible, and dynamic workspaces. It combines the following technologies to achieve a personalized user experience:

•Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)—For Cisco IP Phone interface integration with the Smart+Connected PS.

•Building Automation—For workspace services, such as light setting controls, blinds, and air conditioners.

•Digital Signage—To display personalized content, such as images and messages at your workspace.

The Smart+Connected PS solution offers the following features:

•Workspace Search—Allows an end-user to search for an available workspace.

•Workspace Booking with Preference Setting—Allows an end-user to book a workspace for either themselves or for another user and preset preferences such as light setting control, blinds, dimmer, air conditioning, and digital signages.

•Checking in and out—Allows an end-user to check-in to the booked workspace at the scheduled time using either the web portal or a Cisco IP Phone available at the workspace. After using the workspace, the end-user is checked out of the workspace.

•Smart+Connected PS Mobile Application—Allows to access the Smart+Connected PS application on your mobile devices, such as Android and iPhones. The Smart+Connected PS Mobile Application offers features, such as viewing your upcoming meeting and workspace reservation details, checking in and out of a reserved workspace using the QR codes, ad-hoc checking in from the list of available workspaces, searching for people, and so on.

System Requirements

Before installing the application, ensure that your system meets the necessary requirements.

Hardware Note: •This requirement is for one VM (for example, colocated) or one physical machine. •For a non-cluster setup, you need two VMs, with the listed minimum specifications. In this case, one VM is for the application server, while the second one is for the database. •For a cluster setup, the hardware requirements are based on the deployment scenario and the user requirements.	Minimum requirements are: •Hard Disk Space—200 GB •RAM—Minimum configuration of 4 GB or above •Processor –2 vCPU dual core for Virtual Machine (VM) –Intel x86/I386 Architecture for physical machines –Certified on Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series with Intel CPUs.

New Features

You can now access the Smart+Connected PS Mobile Application on your mobile devices, such as Android and iPhones. The Smart+Connected PS Mobile Application offers the following features:

–Viewing your upcoming meeting and workspace reservation details.

–Checking in and out of a reserved workspace.

–Ad-hoc checking in from the list of available workspaces.

–Checking in and out using the QR code scanning feature.

–Marking workspaces and people within an enterprise as favorites.

–Setting your preferences for a building and floor.

–Searching for people in an enterprise.

–Calling contacts or sending e-mails to them.

–Importing contacts from the LDAP directory.

The Smart+Connected PS application provides additional support for the following:

CSCuc81783	Login to the server throws an HTTP error when the Primary Server goes down in a cluster environment.
CSCua70620	Uploading a file fails in the Preference module for a slide-show in digital signage for the browser versions Internet Explorer 8 and 9.
CSCuc88097	After the check-in time starts for a reservation and you try to edit the start time, the start time value is advanced further.
CSCuc85286	The push-to-phone feature is not working for the JBoss environment.
CSCuc64750	No validation is handled in the Select a Space tab when a session expires.
CSCuc63190	When the configuration setting for advance booking is set to one, users cannot avail the current day's booking.
CSCuc73714	The Report generation module supports the date format as MM/DD/YYYY. All other date formats are not supported.
CSCuc92678	During a repeat booking, the system does not change the nearest available spaces when a start and end time is changed for a reservation.
CSCua84537	On the digital signage, in a cluster mode environment, the image is not displayed if the active server goes down. You must select the layout and activate it again.
CSCua98988	If the nearest available spaces are more than ten, the list displays only ten such spaces in the right side of the frame.
CSCub04449	Although the Cisco IP Phone displays the STOP icon, this feature is not supported. You can only open or close blinds using the Cisco IP Phone.
CSCub07731	When a proxy booking is done for a user who does not have location permissions, then the user is not allowed to check in to the workspace. While editing this type of a booking, an error is displayed. You must do proxy bookings for the users based on the permissions to a location.
DE794	When the other layout is displayed, the RSS feeder overlaps in the content display after you save the content display.
DE853	In the mobile devices, the Preference page does not refresh if the preferences are changed but not saved.
DE804	Unable to filter the Search IEC location when a you select the Digital Signage Service as the search criteria.
DE859	In the mobile devices, while shifting the location from one checked-in location to the other using the adhoc check-in feature, the confirmation message does not disable the movement across tabs.
DE681	In the mobile devices, the vertical scroll-bar appears in the header and footer of the Workspace and All pages.
DE661	In the iPhone devices, the Login page displays some blank space.
