The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. For the purposes of this documentation set, bias-free is defined as language that does not imply discrimination based on age, disability, gender, racial identity, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and intersectionality. Exceptions may be present in the documentation due to language that is hardcoded in the user interfaces of the product software, language used based on RFP documentation, or language that is used by a referenced third-party product. Intercloud Fabric lets you create a virtual machine (VM) and associate a virtual data center (VDC) with the VM.
You have created an account in the provider cloud.
You have installed the Intercloud Fabric components.
You have created the Intercloud Fabric cloud.
You have configured the required policies.
The guest operating system firewall has been configured to allow traffic on the following ports:
You have installed SSH, SCP, sudo, and mkinitrd binaries for Linux VMs.
You have downloaded and installed the drivers necessary for LSI Logic Ultra SCSI/Parallel storage controller for Windows 2012 and later. These drivers are necessary only if your public cloud environment is based on CloudStack.
Deploying a virtual machine consists of the following steps:
Step 1 | Creating a virtual data center (VDC). |
Step 2 | Uploading an
image.
See Uploading an Image. |
Step 3 | Creating a
catalog.
See Managing Catalogs. |
Step 4 | Creating a virtual machine. |
An image uploaded to Intercloud Fabric will be used later to create a catalog in the Intercloud Fabric cloud.
Use this procedure to upload an image to Intercloud Fabric.
You know the location of the image to upload.
Step 1 | Log in to Intercloud Fabric. |
Step 2 | Choose . |

Step 7 | To delete an image, select the image, click the gear icon, and choose Delete.
You cannot delete an image if it is associated with a catalog. |
The system administrator creates a catalog item from an uploaded image. A catalog is associated with a public Intercloud Fabric cloud where the template is created and has a set of user groups who can use it to deploy cloud virtual machines.
Use this procedure to manage a catalog item.
