Load Balancing Configuration on RV180 and RV180W
Load balancing is a network terminology which is used to distribute the workload across multiple computers, network links and various other resources to achieve proper resource utilization, maximize throughput, response time and mainly avoid the overload.
This article explains the steps to enable this feature in order to achieve optimal resource utilization, throughput and response time.
Load Balancing Configuration
Step 1. Use the Configuration Utility to choose Wireless > Load Balancing. The Load Balancing page opens. It has the following settings:
• Load Balancing Enable — Check this field to enable Load balancing.
• SSID — Name of a wireless LAN. All devices in the wireless must have the same SSID to communicate with each other.
• Utilization Threshold — Percentage bandwidth utilization above which no wireless client can connect to SSID.
• Current Utilization — Displays current bandwidth utilization.
