Static DHCP Configuration on RV120W and RV220W
Static Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is useful if you want an interface to always have the same IP address. If you assign an IP address to specific MAC address then, DHCP server recognizes the MAC address of your device Network Interface Card (NIC) and assigns the static IP address to it.The objective of this document is to configure static DHCP on the RV120w and RV220W firewall.
• RV120W • RV220W
Static DHCP Configuration
Step 1. Using Configuration Utility, choose Networking > LAN > Static DHCP. The Static DHCP page opens.
Step 2. Click Add to add IP and MAC entry in Static DHCP Client Table.
Step 3. Enter the IP address of the device.
Step 4. Enter the MAC address of the device.
Note: The IP address assigned should be outside the pool of the DHCP addresses configured. The DHCP pool IPs are reserved and new IP address entry in IP Address field should be outside this pool. The DHCP server will then serve the reserved IP address when the device using the corresponding MAC address requests an IP address.
