All Cisco 12000 series Gigabit Switch Router (GSR) line cards

Problem Description

In some cases, a Cisco 12000 router may display a "Warning: Old EE_MAIN_PCA" message at the end of a show version command output. This is a very low priority issue with the programming of the card. This error is cosmetic and can be safely ignored.

Problem Symptoms

The following message is displayed at the end of a show version command output.

WARNING: Old EE_MAIN_PCA in slot x. Contact your technical support representative.

The only symptom is the message on the console. The line card is fully functional.

Workaround/Solution

This issue has been resolved as of Cisco IOS® Software version 12.0(14)S. Upgrading to Cisco IOS 12.0(14)S or higher prevents the message from occurring.
