This article relates to Cisco TelePresence Server 7010.
Q. The status of the Telepresence Server is Connection failed. What does this mean and how can I recover?
A. The Conference control field in the Telepresence Server Status page shows whether this Telepresence Server is a Conference controller Telepresence Server or a Telepresence Server that is controlled by one that is a Conference controller. See the online help topic, Adding and configuring Telepresence Servers for an explanation of the possible entries. There are a number of reasons why you may see Connection failed, including:
a network problem between the two devices
the http/https service on the controlled Telepresence Server is not enabled
the Telepresence Server that is being controlled is down or in a 'shutdown' state
there is a mismatch between the two devices, for example the Conference controller thinking that it controls a particular Telepresence Server, but that Telepresence Server being configured as a Conference controller in its own web interface
Click Retry connection. If this does not work, check the network, and the status of the Telepresence Server that is being controlled.
