Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® 12000 Series Three-Port Gigabit Ethernet Line Card. The last day to order the Cisco12000 Series Three-Port Gigabit Ethernet Line Card is March 31, 2005. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until March 31, 2010. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco 12000 Series Three-Port Gigabit Ethernet Line Card. Table 2 lists the product numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 12000 Series 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet ISE Line Card which features the IP Services Engine (ISE)-a powerful adaptive network processor (ANP) that combines the hardware performance of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) with the flexibility of software to deliver multiple robust network-edge features while maintaining predictable line-rate performance. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco 12000 Series Three-Port Gigabit Ethernet Line Card to the Cisco 12000 Series 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet ISE Line Card.
