Cisco Security Intelligence Operations

Cisco Security Intelligence Operations (SIO) is a security ecosystem that identifies, analyzes, and defends against threats. With Cisco SIO powering Cisco devices and services, your customers are protected and kept informed of new and emerging threats.

Cisco SIO consists of three components:

  • Cisco SensorBase, a threat-monitoring network that captures threat telemetry from over 700,000 globally deployed Cisco devices. This live data is combined with a historical database of over 40,000 vulnerabilities and over 30 percent of the world’s email and web traffic.
  • Cisco Threat Operations Center, which includes 10 expert teams of over 500 security analysts and automated systems. They conduct 24x7x365 research throughout five global locations, converting data into actionable intelligence.
  • Dynamic updates, which are delivered in real time to Cisco devices--often hours before traditional mechanisms.

Please read the overview of Cisco SIO and engage in valuable online discussions about current, top-of-mind security issues on our Cisco Security Blog.
