The Cisco - TCS Alliance.
Strategic Alliances are all about enhancing the competitive edge, so we at Cisco have inked a partnership with TCS, India's largest IT Services provider and this will see a momentous change in Data Center solutions. Expect innovation on a neverbefore scale as we build next generation Data Centers by taking advantage of the network as a platform. The alliance promises path breaking shifts in networking as it addresses the needs of a broad spectrum of businesses. The critical advantage of the Cisco -TCS partnership is that customers now get the best combination of infrastructure services and advanced networking solutions. As part of the alliance roadmap, TCS will build a new technology practice focused on Cisco’s industry-leading data centre networking and security solutions. TCS will incorporate Cisco’s Data Centre 3.0 technologies, with TCS’s industry-leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing. The practice will focus on helping customers develop next-generation virtualized data centers and achieve greater operational and energy efficiency. We will also explore new networking innovations to address the needs for IT services in large and small businesses. Customers gain other significant advantages too. For instance, the Cisco Technology Lab in Chennai, India, will allow TCS to develop network-based data centre solutions, test frameworks, develop skills and certify employees in Cisco data centre technologies. The lab will also allow us to illustrate proof of concepts and IT and networking methodologies for client-specific business processes. Mr. N Chandrasekaran, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, TCS, said "This strategic alliance will take advantage of Cisco’s industry-leading data center networking solutions and TCS’s global network delivery model to help our customers increase efficiency and agility of their IT operations." Mr. Wim Elfrink, Chief Globalization Officer, Cisco, stated "This strategic alliance illustrates Cisco commitment to building relationships with new partners in emerging parts of the world that will take advantage of new virtualized approaches such as ‘software as a service." The key verticals this alliance will concentrate on are Banking/Financial Services, Telecom, Government and SMB. The ultimate goal of this alliance is to create mutually owned, repeatable solutions and models that will positively impact businesses, and deliver far better returns from IT investments. |
