Personeta

Personeta specializes in developing software for network service creation (NSC) platforms. Its flagship NSC product, TappS (for Telco application Server), is a single platform that can be used to offer a nearly unlimited number of different services to a nearly unlimited number of users.

Cisco and Personeta Joint Solution Overview

Designed as an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) application server, TappS can work equally well on non-IP, non-IMS infrastructures, such as:

  • Public switched telephone networks (PSTNs)
  • Public land mobile networks (as an intelligent network service control point, for example)
  • Hybrid environments enabling smooth migration to IMS and next-generation networks

It also supports all major signaling protocols, which means it can connect different data networks to support applications such as click-to-dial services.

Personeta systems interface with, and rely on, a number of networking elements that are part of Cisco Service Exchange Framework (SEF):

  • Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch
  • Cisco MGX 8880 Media Gateways
  • Cisco AS 500 Series universal gateways
  • Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP)
  • Cisco Session Border Controller

Collaborating with Cisco SEF, Personeta systems allow service providers to create and deploy new fixed and mobile converged (FMC) services for their enterprise and small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers, making the vision of migrating from non-IMS to IMS applications a reality. Some examples of FMC applications enabled by the Cisco and Personeta joint solution are Mobile Office, Auto Attendant, Converged Desktop, Number Translations, Announcement Distribution, Find-Me-Follow-Me, and Prepaid Broadband.

The joint solutions provide the following benefits to service providers:

  • Same applications across multiprotocol networks
  • New revenue growth opportunities in the enterprise and SMB wireless market
  • Smoother migration path to next-generation VoIP networks
  • New capabilities such as presence and location for innovative services
  • Minimum vendor-specific dependency while migrating to IMS
