Cloud computing implies a shared infrastructure, with scalable on-demand characteristics and flexible management. It takes advantage of pervasive connectivity and virtualized resources that are independent of location.

Infrastructure as a Service provides computing, memory, and storage resources on demand within the cloud. This helps customers:

  • Self-provision and manage network, computing and memory profiles for virtual servers deployed within the cloud
  • Scale their IT resource use far more flexibly than conventional approaches
  • Develop and test new applications before wide-scale deployment

A service that achieves the Cisco Powered managed service designation meets or surpasses standards for a premium service experience as defined by Cisco and industry best practices. The designated services have been validated against Cisco's exacting standards through an objective, independent audit.

All MSCP managed services must include proactive monitoring from your Network Operations Center (NOC); service availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and service-level agreements (SLAs) with terms of one or more years.

Pre-Requisites
  • Satisfy select role requirements within Data Center Architecture Specialization
  • Meet all Managed Service requirements in Offer-Based Audit Document
  • Minimum of two customer references
  • Have service-level agreement (SLA) and published Managed Services Description (MSD)
  • Certified personnel on staff
  • Provide service coverage (depending on country availability)
Service Design
  • Based on Cisco 3.0 Architecture design using Nexus or Catalyst switches
  • Consolidation of resources using UCS (Unified Computing System)
  • Virtualization and abstraction of resources from the physical layer using technology from Cisco partners
Service Level Management Requirements
  • SLAs and metrics as defined by requirements document
  • Customer portal
  • External and internal reporting
