The Cisco Business Ready Teleworker (BRT) Specialization will retire on 20 March 2007
The last day to submit an application for the Cisco Business Ready Teleworker (BRT) Specialization will be 20 March 2006.

To achieve a Cisco Business Ready Teleworker (BRT) Specialization, Cisco requires partners to fulfill each defined job role: account manager, systems engineer, and field engineer.

PLEASE NOTE: Participation in this program will not have an impact on the maximum number of specializations or job roles that individuals are allowed to hold or participate in; as such, an individual can participate in this program and up to two additional specializations.

Because technology continues to evolve, Cisco specialization requirements are subject to change. Please refer to this site often to ensure that you meet all current program requirements before you submit your specialization application.

The Business Ready Teleworker Specialization personnel requirements are as follows:

Account Manager: Responsible for BRT sales methodology and customer engagement.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals filling this role should be account managers holding IP Communications or IP Telephony-Revised, and VPN/Security specializations. This ensures that the candidate has the necessary background to fill the account manager role.

  • Required Pre-requisite
  • Cisco Sales Expert (#646-202 or 646-201) From June 1, 2004 through August 31, 2004, you may earn your Cisco Sales Expert badge by successfully completing either exam #646-201 or #646-202. After September 1, 2004, exam #646-201 will be retired and be replaced by exam #646-202; however the certification remains valid for two years from the pass date.

Systems Engineer: Pre-sales engineer; responsible for BRT planning and design.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals filling this role should be sales engineers holding IP Communications or IP Telephony-Revised, and VPN/Security specializations. This ensures that the candidate has the necessary background to fill the sales engineer role.

Field Engineer: Post-sales engineer; responsible for BRT implementation and operation.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals filling this role should be field engineers holding IP Communications or IPT-Revised, and VPN/Security specializations. This ensures that the candidate has the necessary background to fill the field engineer role.
