Role Requirements

To achieve an IP Communications Specialization, Cisco requires the partner to fulfill each defined job role:Account Manager, Project Coordinator, Systems Engineer, Field Engineer 1, Field Engineer 2, and Operations Specialist. An individual can be allocated to a maximum of two job roles in a maximum of two specializations.

Technology is continually evolving and therefore, Cisco specialization requirements are subject to change. Please refer to this site often to ensure you meet all program requirements before you submit your specialization application.

The IP Communications Specialization requirements are as follows:

Account Manager: Responsible for IP Communications sales methodology and customer engagement.

    Required Pre-requisite
  • Cisco Sales Expert (#646-203 or #646-202)


  • Note: From March 7, 2006 through May 31, 2006, you may earn your Cisco Sales Expert badge by successfully completing either exam #646-203 or #646-202. After June 1, 2006, exam #646-202 will be retired and be replaced by exam #646-203; however the certification remains valid for two years from the pass date.
    Required Exams
  • Cisco CallManager Express (CCME) Sales Exam (#SE0-72)
  • Cisco IPCC Express for AMs (#SEO-88)
    Exam is only assessment available and is based on same study content as previous exam (SEO-302). Former exam retired but results still accepted.
  • Account Manager Learning Environment (AMLE) Exam (SE0-74)

Project Coordinator: Junior-level staff member; assists in project coordination. Knowledgeable of Cisco best practices for project execution. Utilizes the IP Telephony Steps to Success Study Guide for tools and resources.

Systems Engineer: Pre-sales engineer; responsible for IP Communications solution planning and design.

Field Engineer 2: Post-sales engineer responsible for IP Communications implementation, specific to the Cisco Unity unified messaging and IPCC Express Contact Center solutions. Possesses MCSE knowledge required for Cisco CallManager and Cisco Unity platforms.
