With a Managed Unified Threat service, customers can take advantage of all the major capabilities necessary to form a cohesive defense against a variety of network and IT infrastructure threats.

This service offers:

Firewall services that are based on IOS capabilities embedded in the CPE or by using a dedicated appliance and providing all the functions of the existing Cisco Powered service designation
Intrusion prevention that offers all the functions of the existing Cisco Powered service designation
Secure VPN with encrypted access to the corporate environment for remote and mobile workers
Content security including antivirus and antispyware, antispam, and antiphishing as well as data loss prevention and content filtering capabilities

A service that achieves the Cisco Powered managed service designation meets or surpasses standards for a premium service experience as defined by Cisco and industry best practices. The designated services have been validated against Cisco's exacting standards through an objective, independent audit.

All MSCP managed services must include proactive monitoring from your NOC, service availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and SLAs with terms of one or more years.

Requirements
Prerequisites	Meet all Managed Service requirements in Offer-Based Audit Document Minimum of two customer references Service-level agreement (SLA) and published Managed Services Description (MSD) At least one CCSP on staff for skilled service desk case escalations Provide service coverage (country availability) Must offer the following Managed Services based on Cisco Solution that meet the requirements of the Cisco Powered level: Firewall IPS/IDS
Service Design	Demonstrate support for Firewall, IPS, content security and encrypted VPN service offerings, and explain how these work together to provide a complementary set of capabilities to manage threats in the network Demonstrate core functionality of a firewall service including stateful inspection, application level functionality, and DOS prevention Demonstrate core functionality of an IPS service including implementation and profiling of current environment, signature management, and event handling Offer content security service that includes antivirus, antiphishing, antispam, as well as data loss prevention with content filtering Offer some form of encrypted VPN such as IPsec, MPLS-based VPN
Service Level Management Requirements	SLAs and metrics as defined by requirements document Customer portal External and internal reporting
