The Managed Public Wireless solution is based on the ServiceMesh architecture, which securely and dynamically provisions subscriber access and value-added services across wireless mesh networks. You can provide a variety of free, prepaid, or subscription-based managed access services to corporate contract users by managing the identification and subsequent monitoring and enforcement of the agreed service. With a Managed First Mile Wireless VPN service, customers can gain access to all the major applications they typically have in their corporate VPN environment even when they're working in remote locations that conventional first-mile technology typically cannot reach.

Managed First Mile Wireless VPN service:

  • Provides users with a secure connection to the corporate VPN
  • Supports wireless LANs
  • Provides support for video and voice services delivered over a wireless infrastructure
  • Delivers content security capabilities including antivirus and antispyware, antispam and antiphishing, and data loss prevention and content filtering
  • Is designed so that it requires minimal onsite expertise

 


A service that achieves the Cisco Powered managed service designation meets or surpasses standards for a premium service experience as defined by Cisco and industry best practices. The designated services have been validated against Cisco's exacting standards through an objective, independent audit.

All MSCP managed services must include proactive monitoring from your NOC, service availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and SLAs with terms of one or more years.

Requirements
Prerequisites
  • Meet all Managed Service requirements in Offer-Based Audit Document
  • Minimum of two customer references
  • Service-level agreement (SLA) and published Managed Services Description (MSD)
  • Provide service coverage (country availability)
  • Must be provider of the infrastructure on which the service is delivered (carrier)
  • Internet Protocol (IP) transport must be based primarily on Cisco infrastructure
  • Must offer a Managed Service based on a Cisco solution that provides network access using wireless technology
  • Must have appropriate ATP based on type of service provided
Service Design
  • Support options for wireless backhaul from the remote site such as VSAT, cellular, or Wi-Max
  • Implement wireless link efficiency mechanisms to maximize resources
  • Support devices designed for harsh outdoor environments
  • Support wireless LAN infrastructure including voice and video
  • Provide asset tracking and physical security
Service Level Management Requirements
  • SLAs and metrics as defined by requirements document
  • Customer portal
  • External and internal reporting
