Nowadays we have many great advantages in our society which come from technology. Computer networking is actually the most important technology in our world, and Cisco has shown tremendous initiative in this field by creating the Cisco Networking Academy Program. The Academy Program helped me to develop skills in the networking area, and gave me the opportunity to demonstrate these skills. I believe that the varied learning environment of the Cisco curriculum delivers solid technical knowledge to its students.
At Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (ESPOL) I had the opportunity to get technology training and to prepare for the next stage in my professional life. For that I will never forget those unforgettable moments at the Academy. My favorite aspect of the program was the online curriculum, because I did not have to buy books and carry them every day to the academy! I am very grateful to ESPOL for bringing the ITC Initiative to us students and I am also grateful to the teachers for all their time spent transmitting this knowledge. I can still remember the time that I attended my first practical lesson, which included learning the configuration of a router -- it was incredible and very exciting.
The Academy Program’s curriculum content and training was systematic, comprehensive, but not at all difficult. It gave me the chance to put theory into practice. Thanks to this program I had no trouble finding a technical job in networking solutions. At my job I work on designing and maintaining Cisco networking equipment. Since the Cisco products are so popular in today’s society, getting more information about Cisco’s routers and switches made my work that much easier. But this is not the end; I still have much to learn. I would like to take the CCNP courses in the near future, and someday I hope to teach new students the advantages of the Cisco Academy Program.
