Local Academy
The General Telecommunication Institute (GTI) is a technical training facility located in Sana'a, Yemen. Nearly 1,400 students enroll in GTI each year within a diverse set of courses focused on Telecomm, Computer Science, Finance, Management, and English.
To support the Cisco Network Academy, GTI has two fully networked labs with high speed internet connections. Each lab has 20 Pentium III computers.
With the support of The Ministry of Communications in the Republic of Yemen, the Academy at GTI hopes to become an important source of IT learning for students within Yemen. As of May 2003, the Academy had trained two instructors and was preparing to offer its first course.
