CCIE Program Updating Written Security Exam
A revision to the CCIE Security written exam will go live on June 1, 2004 in all testing locations worldwide. The Security 2.0 written exam (350-018) reflects advances in how enterprise customers create highly secure business-ready networks. The Security 2.0 written exam (350-018) will emphasize more on:
| Standalone IDS (Intrusion Detection System) sensors, which provide highly accurate threat detection and rapid response to security breaches | |
| Standalone VPN concentrators, which create secure tunnels into the enterprise and improve the security of branch operations and remote employees | |
| VPN/Security Management Systems (VMS), a powerful web-based system for configuring, deploying and troubleshooting complex secure networks | |
| AES and EAP wireless protocols, which support secure wireless access to devices across the enterprise |
Candidates taking the CCIE Security written exam June 1st or later should refer to the Written Exam 2.0 Blueprint posted on the CCIE website for a description of topics that will be covered. Periodic revisions to CCIE exams reflect Cisco's commitment to identifying those experts capable of implementing and maintaining secure state-of-the-art networks in the worlds' most challenging environments.
