The Converged Business Integration Exam will certify that the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills necessary to sell, design, install, support, upgrade and monitor an end-to-end converged network solution to small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers.

Determine the wireless RF patterns and loads, AP overlap and RF containment

Determine the appropriate port load on routers, switches, modules and appliances for a given network application environment
Determine when and how environmental factors effect network device performance
Describe the capabilities of a CCME installation
Describe the capabilities of a Unity Express installation
Identify security issues with a converged network implementation
Determine when and how to deploy QoS techniques to resolve bandwidth or traffic loads
Analyze the existing customer environment
Identify the technologies and protocols running on an existing customer network
Use existing customer documentation to determine the current operational state of the customer's network
Identify the customer goals and requirements for the converged network
Describe the characteristics of the customer's business
Evaluate customer business needs to identify opportunities to use the network to meet or exceed the customer business requirements
Determine the suitability of the environment to support a converged network solution
Evaluate the customer's installed security devices, configurations and policies
Propose a converged network solution that will meet customer needs
Identify Cisco and partner resources to research components of a customer solution
Describe and create reference diagram of proposed solution including both legacy and new devices
Research competitive products and identify pro and cons
Research proposed products for interoperability
Identify network management issues and resolve or identify solution
Identify partner or Cisco based services for ongoing customer maintenance
Describe the administration requirements for a Cisco CCME/CUE installation
Identify pricing and suitability for customer budget

Test and validate the proposed converged network solution
Use partner or Cisco lab to test design and all devices, including third party devices, as necessary
Review reference designs or CPOC case studies to resolve lab discovery issues
Test all components for interoperability and simulate load to be used in the customer environment
Create pilot project for on-site customer evaluation of proposed solution
Create documentation of the proposed solution for presentation to the customer
Adjust proposal to reflect changes discovered during research and testing
Prepare, install and maintain the proposed converged network solution at the customer site
Create delivery and installation plan and calendar, taking into account availability, lead times and delivery methods
Unpack components to staging area, verify condition and validate order, assemble for configuration and testing
Identify and schedule resources and timeline for customer installation
Develop a regular maintenance schedule based on installed products
Setup connectivity to partner based services or schedule ongoing maintenance
Maintain customer satisfaction after installation of a converged network solution
Test the final install to insure all components are operating as proposed
Prepare final documentation and record all device configurations
Survey the customer on all aspects from initial meeting to production
Collect the appropriate information to provide to TAC when placing a trouble ticket call
